Pupil Voice Leads to a Competition...

Children at Manor Park have requested the School Council to investigate a school tie. As children think it would make them look even smarter!  School Council have organised a competition to create our own school tie. The competition is under way...watch out for more infomation in school.

Congratulations Ayman and Mya!

On Thursday 1st December Ayman and Mya supported by year 5 and members of Manor Park's choir visited Aston Manor Secondary School to take part in a talent show they had organised. On their return to school a very excited and emotional Ayman, proudly wearing his 'First sash', burst into the school office to announce he had won. Below is Ayman's account of the event. Well done to both Ayman and Mya.

"It all started when I took part in the talent show heats at Manor Park, miming to Elvis Presley, dressed in my Elvis Presley costume made by my mum! I was so nervous performing in front of the whole school. When I won I was so happy and excited to tell my brothers when I got home. When I got to Aston Manor school for the finals the stage was huge. My mum and dad were at the front in the audience. When the curtains opened I could see the Manor Park banner and hear the children cheering for me. I felt proud to represent our school. When they announced I had won I couldn't believe it, this was the most emotional experience of my life and I never thought I would win the competition. I now feel I have a lot more confidence and I now believe in myself, and thanks Mrs Hylton for encouraging me to take part."

Manor Park Children are helping others

November is a busy month for Manor Park Children! The children at Manor Park have been thinking and talking about other people that maybe in difficult circumstances and need help and support.
Children have raised over £50 for the Poppy Appeal, selling poppies to the Manor Park Community and held a two minute silence on Friday 11th November to remember all those affected by war.
Next week they will be taking part in anti-bullying week and supporting Children in Need on Friday 18th November.  Our House Teams will be having a sing off. See our weekly newsletter for more details...

Twinlakes Community Day Out

Manor Park ran its second Community Visit on Saturday 8th October 2011. Three double decker coaches transported our families to The Twinlakes Theme Park, Leicestershire for a family fun day out!
Children of all ages visited the farm, pets corner, falconry and of course enjoyed the many rides and activities including the steep slides!!! Many of the families tried out the synthetic ice skating rink, some for the first time. A great day was had by all.
If you have any ideas for future events, please let us know...
